Sorry I’ve been kind of MIA this week. Work is starting to pick up and between helping friends move, dinner with my parents before they go out of town, and a meeting for our Hood To Coast team, I’ve spent about 2 hours so far this week of my waking hours at home! I am so ready for this weekend & happy that I get to spend it with Dan!
So for this weeks five on Friday, I decided to go with Five things I wish we acceptable to do now that I’m 25 that I did as a child.
Make forts in the living room with pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals. Sometimes on dreary days, you just want to curl up in a mass of cozy blankets and pretend you’re in some fairytale or curl up and watch Disney movies. Thursday was a really long day, and it was really dark and cool all day, and it just made me want to curl up with a bowl of mac n cheese and some popcorn and watch Aladdin. I have to say, after seeing The Holiday, I was totally jealous and a little bummed that my forts never looked as cool as theirs!
Similar to my last one, but I want to curl up on the couch and have a Disney movie marathon! I miss watching The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and all the other amazing fairytales! I might just have to do this tonight after work since Dan is working.
Finger Painting! Does anyone else ever have days where they wish they could get dirty and make fun art projects and not care if you get dirty or get paint everywhere. Growing up, my parents used to wall paper our family room with my finger paint creations!
While it hasn’t been very warm here in Oregon, the warm weather we did have made me miss being able to swim in kiddie pools and use slip and slides! I remember spending many summer days in my teal plastic pool with the slide in the front yard. If I tried that now, I’d barely get my ankle wet! I have been begging my husband to get a pool, but unfortunately our yard doesn’t really work well for one. Hmm….Maybe someday!
Lastly, I wish I could just decide if I wanted to go to work or not like I did with school as a child. Don’t get me wrong, my parents rarely let me stay home from school, but wouldn’t it be nice if you could just wake up and say “hmm…I’m not really feeling that great” and have the only consequence to you not going to work be that you have a little extra homework. You didn’t have allotted sick time, or really have many things you would miss. Apparently today I just want to be at home, in my fort watching Disney movies and eating Mac n cheese. Yep, that sounds about right!
Hope everyone has a good Friday, and that it goes by quickly for those of you at work today!
