This weekend wasn’t too exciting, although it went by way too quickly (as always). I was excited for Saturday morning because Dan can home from working a 48 hour shift. He works a lot last week and this week so any time together is really appreciated. Saturday morning we went for a run to get our mileage up for our upcoming races. We ran over to my parents’ house and then met up with my dad and ran a few more miles from there. All in all we got in just less than 8 miles that morning. After our run we headed home and got cleaned up. We grabbed some lunch and then decided to take a nap before heading out for the rest of the day. It was so much needed relaxing time for Dan before he headed back to another 48-hour shift.
Saturday afternoon we headed to Vancouver and met up with some friends for a 7k race. It was my good friend Amy’s birthday and she had decided to start the evening off with a run. It was called the Cosmo Run (and yes we got cosmos at the end). There were 5 of us ladies who ran the race and enjoyed the drinks afterwards. It was good training for my Hood To Coast relay coming up in a couple weeks. By the end of the run I was TIRED, but proud. I got 12 miles in on Saturday!! After the run we went back to a hotel in Portland Amy had rented, got dressed and met up with the rest of our group. We headed out to a local karaoke bar in Portland that’s Amy’s favorite for the rest of the night. It was a nice low-key evening.
Sunday Dan was back to work, and I’ll admit I was really bummed. This is going to be a long week of us not seeing each other very much but at least we have this weekend to look forward to. Friday we are headed south a couple hours to the Willamette Country Music Festival. We get to see Carrie Underwood, Hunter Hayes, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Chris Young, Eli Young Band, and several others. It will be a fun weekend of country music together. I can’t wait!!
I won’t bore you with the cleaning, laundry, and food prep I did all day Sunday, but instead leave you with a nice start to the week! Hope it goes by smoothly and quickly for you and for me!
