I have been a little MIA with blogtember, but I also love the idea behind the posts and getting to know myself and other bloggers a little better throughout the month. So I decided that I would try to do as many of these postings as I am able to do. I started today by taking THIS personality test, and this is what I came up with:
Extravert (33%) Sensing (25%) Feeling (75%) Judging (67%)
• You have moderate preference of Extraversion over Introversion (33%)
• You have moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition (25%)
• You have distinctive preference of Feeling over Thinking (75%)
• You have distinctive preference of Judging over Perceiving (67%)
I was really surprised when I read a little more about my specific personality and just how accurate this test really was! Here’s some information I found that goes into a little more detail.
Guardians of birthdays, holidays and celebrations, ESFJs are generous entertainers. They enjoy and joyfully observe traditions and are liberal in giving, especially where custom prescribes.
All else being equal, ESFJs enjoy being in charge. They see problems clearly and delegate easily, work hard and play with zest. ESFJs, bear strong allegiance to rights of seniority. They willingly provide service (which embodies life's meaning) and expect the same from others.
ESFJs are easily wounded. And when wounded, their emotions will not be contained. They by nature "wear their hearts on their sleeves," often exuding warmth and bonhomie, but not infrequently boiling over with the vexation of their souls.
Their sense of right and wrong wrestles with an overwhelming rescuing, 'mothering' drive. This sometimes results in swift, immediate action taken upon a transgressor, followed by stern reprimand; ultimately, however, the prodigal is wrested from the gallows of their folly, just as the noose tightens and all hope is lost, by the very executioner!
As caretakers, ESFJs sense danger all around--germs within, the elements without, unscrupulous malefactors, insidious character flaws. The world is a dangerous place, not to be trusted. Not that the ESFJ is paranoid; 'hyper-vigilant' would be more precise. And thus they serve excellently as protectors, outstanding in fields such as medical care and elementary education.
Some of the famous fictional characters that share this same personality type include Donald Duck, Rabbit from Winnie The Pooh, and my personal favorite Monica from Friends. It’s funny just how accurate this test was. The suggested professions fit perfectly with what I went to school for and currently do. I have always been the “mother” or protector of my group of friends. And as my husband will always attest to, I LOVE holidays, birthdays, pretty much any reason for me to decorate and throw a party!
I think it’s important to know who you are and what personality traits you possess. I think it would be really interesting to go back to this test and retake it in 5-10 years just to see how much you evolve over time. I appreciate my willingness to help others, my tendency to lead with my emotions, my love for celebrations, and the different traits others bring to relationships!
