Another Weekend In The Books

Monday, December 9, 2013

It's Monday again and here in Oregon we are still experiencing an abnormally cold spell. I am hoping and wishing for snow this evening and hopefully more tomorrow because I would LOVE a snow day with Dan! We will see if my wish comes true! So while I am sitting here looking out my office window every five minutes and constantly checking the weather forecast, I'll fill you in on my weekend!

Friday:
Dan was working and I enjoyed some time to myself. Sometimes it's nice to just have some time at the end of the week to unwind and get some stuff done. I made a couple trips to some nearby stores and added to my holiday decorations. I promise I'll post pics of our home soon!

Saturday:
The past few years we have helped out at the neighboring fire department for their holiday fundraiser. When you're married to a firefighter, most of their friends are also firefighters. Well Dan's best friend is a Lieutenant at the next town's department and they asked us to help them again. For their holiday fundraiser, they set up pictures with Santa on an old antique fire engine. For $5 per picture you can bring your child down to the fire station where they get to meet Santa, tell him what they want for Christmas, and get their picture taken. Here's some of the ones with the Four of us and Amy and I (the photographers). It's fun to be able to take them images and capture such a memorable moment for so many children.

That evening, after a nap :) (being around that many children for hours wears you out), we went out to dinner and went and looked at christmas lights with those same friends. It was a day full of best friend time which was definitely needed!

Sunday:
Dan and I wanted to get more Christmas shopping done. We ventured to the Mall and got almost all of our shopping done except for My Mom and his Dad. All in all it was a pretty successful day. We ended the evening relaxing by the tree, playing cards, and watching Home Alone.

I'm hoping for a snow day this week & can't wait for next Saturday and my Birthday/Ugly Christmas Sweater party to be here! Hope everyone has a great week!
