Favorite Traditions: Our 4th!

Monday, July 7, 2014

Well we're back to work after a nice long weekend. Our weekend was filled with late nights, time with friends, cold drinks and lots of fun. 4th of July around our area means that the rodeo is in town. The town over from where we live hosts one of the largest rodeos in the country. It has become a yearly tradition and a fun way to celebrate with friends.

The rodeo is in town for 4 days. We were able to go to two shows, enjoy the 4th of July parade, spend nights out enjoying drinks and dancing, and helping sell tickets and wristbands at the beer garden. It's a fun tradition and an awesome people watching experience.

Wednesday night we went to the show and enjoyed a nice evening out with a few drinks. I had to make it a semi early night since I had to work the next day.

Thursday evening after work we were invited to a BBQ at a fellow firefighters house so we went over there for a few hours. Once it got a little later and it was time to put all the kids to bed, the adults headed out to the rodeo for some drinks. It's always nice to spend tiAme with fellow fire wives and for us to all get out and enjoy time together.

Every 4th of July, we always head to the Parade with my dad and our best friends. While the parade isn't always the most exciting, it's a yearly tradition I always look forward to.

After the parade we headed to the afternoon rodeo show with our friends.

The night of the 4th we were ready for a relaxing night at home so we invited our parents over to enjoy some fireworks. It's the one night of the year that all of our neighbors get together. Our neighbors across the street make a special trip to get a ton of fireworks and we all get to enjoy a fun night at home. Clearly Dan enjoyed the fireworks :)

Saturday night we volunteered to help sell tickets and pour beer in the beer garden at the rodeo. Since this was the last night the rodeo in town it was packed. We ended up staying out WAY past my bedtime but having a really fun time with friends.

All in all it was a fun, yet exhausting 4th of July. I love this time of the year, because it's a tradition that all of our best friends are a part of. Late nights, drinks, laughs, and lots of memories. What did you do for the 4th?
