In just a few short days, we will be celebrating our 4 year anniversary. I'm honestly not really sure where the time went. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our first year of marriage and now we are at year 4, selling our first home, and looking at celebrating 8 years together. When Dan and I first met, finding my husband was one of the furthest things from my mind and I wasn't even looking for a boyfriend. I guess the saying that it'll happen when you stop looking really was what happened to us. We've been blessed to share some amazing memories over the past four years, and so in keeping with the fact that it's Friday, and since I plan on bombarding your blog feed with lots of lovey dovey marriage related posts over the next few days, I thought I would share five of my favorite memories together.
Both Dan and I love to explore new places and have definitely gotten to do a bit of that since we've been together. We've been lucky enough to go to Cabo San Lucas, New York, California, Las Vegas, Puerto Vallarta, Playa Del Carmen, on a Carribean Cruise, and lots of trips around Oregon and Washington together. I'm lucky that I married someone who likes to travel and visit new places as much as I do and the fact that we've been able to share some awesome vacations in our first few years of marriage just the two of us is priceless. Anytime someone asked us when we were going to have kids after we got married, we always answered with our desire to travel together first. I feel like now that we've been married for a few years and we've gotten to visit several new places, we won't feel like we are missing out or regretting anything when we decide to start a family.
TWO: Raising Cooper
There were times after the 11:00 at night surprise phone call from my father-in-law announcing that he had bought us a puppy that I seriously considered finding him a new home, but boy am I happy that we stuck through it! While he may not have been in "my plan", he has definitely brought lots of laughs and love to my life! I love that he is so protective of me, and definitely has a different relationship with both Dan and I. Plus he is now always a reminder of my father-in-law, and even shares a special anniversary with him.
THREE: Celebrating Holidays
FOUR: Accomplishing Dreams
(Sorry this picture is blurry) This is him with my biological grandmother, my half sister, and my birth mother's brother-in law (if that's not a complex family tree, I don't know what is). . . this just shows how much he has embraced this whole experience. They are dressing up for a picture all wearing camo to win a game of Walmart Bingo.
FIVE: Our Wedding!
I hope everyone has an awesome weekend! Don't forget to link up with the oh hey Friday linkup. And be prepared next week for lots of relationship/wedding/marriage posts . . . #sorryimnotsorry.
