An Unlabored Labor Day

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

Unlike many of you, I wasn't on top of it and didn't get a post put together in time to recap my long weekend yesterday, so that's what you're getting today :) I think I can pretty much reiterate what everyone else is either saying or thinking when I say that it is always so hard to come back to work after a long weekend. Seriously, I don't know what it is, but this girl could barely stay awake yesterday!

I was lucky enough to spend the long weekend with some of my favorite people. My Aunt and Uncle were in town so we spent all weekend with them laughing, playing games, showing them our new house and enjoying lots of family time. My family has always been really close, just not when it comes to proximity, so any time together we have is always cherished.

I'll let the pictures from the weekend do most of the talking . . .

My weekend started and ended with these two sweeties. I offered to come hang with them for a bit on Friday so that their Mom could get a few things done. The sacrifices I make :)
Saturday we started off the day with breakfast at our new house just Dan and me! It didn't matter that there's nothing in the house besides a shower that is currently in our living room. It was fun to sit and dream about our future in that home!

We also decided to give my family a tour of Dan's fire station on Saturday

which also included my father and uncle pretending to be super tough . . .

And of course a ride in the engine!

We spent the rest of the weekend wine tasting, playing board games, and drinking wine :)

Monday was all about spending time with friends. We went to a BBQ over at the new babies' house and got to enjoy some friend time, and ended the evening with happy hour with some former coworkers. All in all it was a great long weekend, which made it even more difficult to go back to work!

I hope everyone else's long weekend also included some of your favorite people and some tasty drinks! And don't forget to linkup with Morgan and I tomorrow for our If You Knew Me In High School linkup!
