An update of sorts - 19 weeks & almost halfway!

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Every time I sit down to write these I realize how long it's been since I've written one. But as I reach the 20 week mark tomorrow, I figured it was time to provide a little update and also get your guesses on whether you think baby Boyes will be a little boy or a little girl. Check out the pool on the right side of the page to make your guesses. The poll is only up until Sunday so make sure to make your pick!

I seriously can't believe we are nearly halfway done with the pregnancy (and I say we because my husband is definitely getting to go through a lot of this with me). The last couple weeks definitely hit me that we will need to get started registering and making all those decisions once we know if we're having a boy or a girl. It's hard to believe we will have an answer to that question in just 4 days! I'm  trying my best not to think about it, but I am super anxious to see our baby on that ultrasound Friday morning and to find out what our little peanut is on Sunday with all our friends and family.

Overall I'm feeling way more normal, which is fairly typical for the 2nd trimester. Last week was a crazy one at work so by Friday night I was definitely worn out. While I may be feeling much more like my normal self, I need to continue to remember my body is working hard and that baby is growing and developing like crazy so it's okay to take breaks when I need them and to expect to feel worn out after strenuous days or weeks.

Our evenings have been spent looking up product reviews on strollers, car seats, crib mattresses and all thing baby. We came to the realization that Dan's current truck won't fit a car seat which put a little bump in the road. We're working on trying to look for new vehicle options and figure out a good solution so we don't have to do so much juggling between vehicles once our little one is here. It's not exactly the easiest transition when Dan gets home around 7:45 in the morning and that's the latest I can leave for work without being too late. Hopefully we can find a solution that he'll be happy with and that won't break the bank!

Our crib came in the mail a couple weeks ago and I convinced tricked Dan in to opening it an assembling it. The box was a little beat up so I suggested we open it to make sure nothing was damaged. And once the box was open, I figured it was as good a time as any to just put it all together. So now there it sits in the nursery by itself until we figure out with our little one is. Then I'm sure between my mom and I it will fill up fast!

This is what I came home to a few days ago! We ended up choosing the Pottery Barn Kids crib Catalina and I absolutely love it!
And of course the little one was spoiled already by my mom on Easter!

So while I continue to browse Pinterest for all the baby ideas I can find and try to hold back the excitement for our gender reveal this Sunday, make sure you take the poll on the right side of the page. I so appreciate all the sweet comments and texts I get from some of my favorite bloggers! It's been so fun to share this experience with you & I can't wait to find out what we are having and be able to share even more of the fun details!

  1. What a cute little Easter basket from your mom! I'm going to give my mom a hard time about this now lol!! We're finally ordering our crib this week! I can't wait for it to come in and set it all up! I've been nonstop in the nursery since this weekend.. I wouldn't call it nesting, but it definitely hit me that we've got {give or take} 15 weeks left! It's never too early to start getting stuff together! Can't wait to see what you're having! You should do a old wives' tale post! Then I'll make my very educated guess what Baby B is! :)
