Bumpdate - Week 27

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

Week: 27 - The last week in my 2nd trimester! This week she is the size of a bunch of bananas

Total Weight Gain: around 14 pounds

Symptoms: Feeling much more exhausted on a daily basis, but holding off on the naps. This week the weather was warmer and I started getting some swelling in my feet. I'm also just feeling bigger and noticing it's just not as easy to roll around in bed or do most everyday movements. I'm sure that will continue to get worse until she's here.

Cravings: Nothing specific except for Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream after dinner

Sleep: some nights are good and some I struggle to get comfortable. I get super warm at night and notice myself waking up to move the covers around and readjust my body pillow.

Clothes: Pretty much all maternity with the exception of some tops and some dresses. Every time I'm not feeling that big I walk by a mirror or see my reflection and am reminded just how big our little girl is getting. Thankfully, I seem to be gaining primarily in my stomach so I'll take it!

Workout: Trying to get in more walks as it seems to help with the swelling in my feet and I feel much better on days that I am able to get a walk in.

Nursery: Really starting to come together! This week we got her mural painted and pictures hung. Now I will probably wait until after her shower later this month to add too much more but I love just going in there and sitting in the glider and daydreaming of when she's here.

Movement: All the time! It feels like she's doing summersaults daily! I've also started to feel her up higher by my ribs and notice she moves and kicks and punches all over my stomach. It's fun to feel her in two places at once and feel how big she's getting.

Best Moment This Week: Getting more done on the nursery, especially the painting by my dad! I just love how it's all coming together and can't wait to share it once it's all finished!

Missing: fitting in my normal clothes and being able to move around easier - this belly is definitely starting to get in the way

  2. I always forget how close behind me you are! When I read this I was like "27 weeks?! What!!" :) You look great! A tip for the swelling - drink your water! Like tons of it! I shoot for 2-3 liters a day and the days I only get 1.5 in.. I'm totally swollen the next day!

  5. Happy 27 weeks! Those struggles to get comfy as you grow throughout the pregnancy were rough for me. I felt like I hardly got any sleep after month 4, but it was all worth it once each of my littles arrived.

  7. Perfect for voluptuous girls, the empire waist dress is universally flattering. It adds curves to the right places, while disguising the wrong. So why not choose light blue homecoming dresses. An empire waist prom dress can be a lifesaver for prom. It adds soft curves to the skinny girls and creates a sleek hourglass shape to full-figured girls. The empire waist dress is a great choice for those who are not interested in the typical "A line" look. It offers a fancy, dressed-up demeanor without the formality of a full-length gown.
