Where Does The Time Go? A Little Update

Tuesday, June 2, 2015

This past weekend we spent most of our time at home, which is fairly abnormal for us. For whatever reason I feel like I need to squeeze as much as possible into our weekends. So while we weren't out and about the entire time, we did get a lot done when it comes to the nursery. I've had ideas running around in my head since we found out we were pregnant, and even shared some of the inspiration we were using when decorating out room a few weeks ago. But this weekend it all really started coming together!

My dad spent a huge chunk of both his Saturday and Sunday over painting hot air balloons on the walls. When we were waiting for my brother to arrive, my dad painted a mural on his wall. And when I was older, the two of us painted clouds on my bedroom ceiling. I always remember the artwork we added to make those rooms unique and I hoped that our kids could have something similar. I am so in love with how it turned out and can't wait to show you the official reveal once it's all done!

It also hit me this weekend that we've reached June. That means in less than 3 months our family will officially be a family of 3. Because of my blood pressure issues that I've dealt with in the past, my Dr has mentioned that she will probably induce me somewhere between 37-39 weeks, so that means in around 10 weeks our little girl will be here. Just thinking about it in terms of weeks is a little terrifying. It feels like we still have so much to do and get before her arrival, but in reality we are getting closer and closer by the week.

I'm truly excited for this month and all that we have going on! This weekend we are spending some time away with Dan's Mom at the Oregon coast. We have been talking about making this trip ever since his Dad passed away a year and a half ago, so I'm glad we've found time to fit it in before the baby gets here. In just two weeks we will be taking our maternity photos. I wanted to get them done before I'm too big or it gets too late and we miss out on them. I also have my first baby shower at the end of this month and I'm so excited to be able to celebrate our little girl. I know this month will fly by with everything that we have planned, but it's also going to be one to remember! If only I can remember to get my camera out and actually document everything that's happening, even if my pregnancy brain tries to keep me from remembering anything I actually need to accomplish.

This year has just flown by along with my pregnancy. I'm still in shock that on Thursday I'll be 28 weeks and officially in my third trimester. I'm glad I've been able to document it all week by week (for the most part) so that I can look back on this exciting time. With how fast time passes and my lack of memory lately, having it all written down will definitely help me remember all the little details week by week.

  3. If you embellished your one shoulder homecoming dresses are dripping with beads, handmade flowers or rhinestones, keep the jewelry understated. Small post earrings and a delicate bracelet add the right touch of glamour.
