Up Up And Away - Baby Shower

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

This weekend was my first of two baby showers hosted by my best friend and my mom. They used the same colors to decorate for the party that we are using in the nursery, so I'm excited to be able to incorporate some of the decor elements in her room. It was also fun to see so many hot air balloon themed decorations at the party, including on the invitations, cake and thank you notes since that's the overall theme we are using for her nursery!

It was a hot Saturday, but thankfully the guest list was only about 20 people long and we were all able to comfortably spend the afternoon inside my air conditioned home! We decided to have the party at our house so we didn't have to transport the gifts anywhere else and so that everyone could see our house, since many of the guests hadn't been in our new home yet. It was nice to be able to be in our own house and just relax after the guests left (which included laying out all her new clothes and gifts to show Dan). Our little girl is so loved already & I am so thankful for everyone who came and spoiled both her and I this weekend!

We had lots of fun stuff for people to do at the shower besides mingle and rub my belly. My mom found a wishing tree where people could write wishes for Dan and I or the baby and leave them on the tree. They also put together a headband making station, and it's safe to say our little girl has enough headbands to last at least a year couple weeks.

I can't believe I'm almost 32 weeks and she will be here so soon! It's fun to start putting some of the final touches on her room now that my first shower is over and really start to get a sense of what we still need. The weeks are flying by so quickly, and I'm sure she will be here before I even know it!

  9. What a special day it was! This shower theme was flawless. Your best friend and mom did great job. I love their decoration ideas. My sister’s first baby shower party was organized last week at some outdoor party venues Houston TX. It was a wonderful weekend.
