Where A Dog And A Blog Call Home - Office Reveal

Wednesday, March 2, 2016

When planning out the design for our new house, both Dan and I had ideas in mind for different rooms. One of the rooms I was most excited about decorating was the office. In our old home, it looked something more like this . . .
Can you see why I was't overly enthused about spending time there or completely motivated by the space? I had lots of plans to redecorate this room, but it got put on hold when we decided to build a new home. (But you can still see some of my office inspiration if I had redecorated). And since our new house has both a bonus room upstairs (that we decorated with a more masculine feel with lots of the fire stuff from our old office), and an extra room, I decided to take the other space on the second floor and decorate it in a fun girly way as my craft room/office. This room also happens to be where our dog Cooper hangs out at night or when we aren't home, but he doesn't take up too much space or complain too much about the teal and gold accents I used so I guess he can stay. I'm sure eventually this room will have to also house a guest bed, but for now I'm loving everything about the girly elements I was able to use! Check it out . . .

Do you love this space as much as I do?

I decided to skip taking pictures and showing you the dog bed or the basket of dog toys and all the black lab dog hair covering the floor before I vacuumed. But I'm sure you get the picture. I absolutely love my office and love that I have a girly space in our house . . . at least for now. I'm sure some day I'll have to share it with someone or something other than a dog and I'll make it a little more adult and a little less girly. But until it's a guest room or needs to be used for something other than my office and Cooper's hangout, I'll keep hanging out with my gold polka dots and brightly colored accents!

  7. I LOVE IT!!!! I have been feeling really sad about my lack of a pretty office at home. The space that we have for our desk is dark and so is the wood on the desk. I really want to redo everything, but just can't right now with the wedding and everything. Maybe next year...
